Guru Purnima

We, Indians, have very strong roots and an emotional attachment with family values and education. These are the things that have kept us grounded for so long and we have one such day that relates to all our emotions and gratitude towards the people who have imparted the knowledge to us. It’s Guru Purnima and just the mention of it brings so many memories of our Gurus, especially our parents and teachers, who have helped us, become what we are.
·      What is Guru Purnima?
Guru Purnima is a festival, dedicated to all the influencers of one’s life, celebrated on Ashadh Purnima of Hindu calendar. The word Guru is derived from two Sanskrit words, gu which means ignorance or darkness and ru which means remover or dispeller. In earlier days, students used to stay with the teachers, imbibe the knowledge, etiquettes, discipline and learn life’s vital lessons.
The institutes nowadays, though, do not follow the residential tradition, are equally similar and serious about the proceedings of education. Shaping the students to become better human beings and developing their personality to help them become confident, responsible and self dependent has become the ultimate goal of the institutes.
“There are two types of educations. One should teach us how to make a living and the other how to live” – John Adams
We try and make sure the relationship of students and teachers is as good as it used to be in the older days and the students create such a rapport with the teachers that they never hesitate to come and sort their issues, professional or personal, anytime. Our aim is to teach them both the types of educations and let them grow in their choices.
Education was and is the most prestigious field which has the potential to actually bring transformation in people and eventually in the world. This is the day to celebrate and share the bond, the values, the knowledge and forthcoming change.

Happy Guru Purnima!
