Are Melatonin vapes safe to replace Nicotine ones?

Vapes & e-cigarettes have grown to become a sort of accessory for over 1 billion people over the world. A lot of whom are under the age of 18. This trend began with a myth that electronic cigarettes are less harmful to the body than regular cigarettes. But as the years went by, this was proven to be inaccurate information.

Although they are less harmful than cigarettes, they aren’t safer. They are certainly not the right path to quit smoking and not FDA approved as a smoking cessation tool. In fact, they are equally as addictive as regular cigarettes. Electronic cigarettes end up making their users consume higher amounts of nicotine than regular ones. The cartridges used in vapes come with varying doses of nicotine ranging from mild to strong, depending on the strength of the hit its user prefers.

Vapes have quickly become a popular trend amongst today’s teens. Research shows that in 2015, right around the time vapes were gaining popularity, their usage among highschool shot up by a shocking 900%! It was reported that 40% of teens using vapes were never smokers in the first place. The trend managed to convert people with no intention of and in some cases even people with an aversion to smoking, to take up the habit. This is due to the fact that e-cigarettes do not fall under the reputation that regular cigarettes have of having a nasty odor as well as taste and how smokers are not perceived as the most hygienic. Vapes, on the other hand, come in various flavors and do not leave an aftertaste or smell on the smoker.

It is safe to conclude that nicotine vapes are unsafe for our health based on the numerous illness and death cases reported in just the last few months. There is now, a new vape pen available in the market: melatonin vape. Melatonin is a brain chemical that regulates our sleep cycle. People who have sleep issues opt for melatonin supplements. There have been a few emerging melatonin vape brands that help de-stress your mind with a dose of melatonin and essential oils.

But is this safe? It is said that the side effects of melatonin include, headaches, temporary feelings of depression, dizziness, daytime sleepiness, stomach cramps, bad dreams, and irritability. It is also recommended to be consumed in controlled doses. Plus, it seems to be intended a very specific cause, i.e. sleeping. This automatically negates its use in the same manner as nicotine vapes. Nicotine e-cigarettes are recreational, used at parties or during smoke breaks whereas melatonin vapes seem to be recommended for therapeutic purposes.

According to the facts and figures gathered above, we can conclude that smoking of any kind does not seem like a safe or smart way of life. Whether it be a regular cigarette or an electronic one, or one filled with melatonin, it is easy for its current target audience, who are mostly under the age of 18, to get easily carried away and develop harmful ailments. Be smart about what you introduce to your body and remember, moderation is everything.
