What can we do to avoid the third wave?

India is among the worst-hit nations when it comes to the COVID crisis. With the lack of awareness among the masses, the situation became dire by the end of the second wave. But as the second wave passed and the country started to stand back on its feet, the threat of the third wave started looming over us.

Though many have been vaccinated, a large population of the country still remains unvaccinated. In this case, the only solution to this impending doom is by taking efforts on a daily basis to avoid it.

Here's what you can do every day to avoid the third wave from striking the country.

Take your vaccination on time

This is the first & foremost important thing that you can do for your and your loved ones' well-being. Get your vaccination shots on time. And remember, a single vaccination doesn't make you immune to the disease. You need both vaccines to become completely immune. The vaccine is the only ideal solution to this problem.

Stay in if you can Though many of us have to go to work every day now, some still have the option to work from home. If you are one of those, then resort to staying home and avoid contact with others as much as possible. Besides work, even for shopping, try to shop online as far as possible to avoid going out to the maximum extent in order to ensure the well-being of you & your family.

Maintain preventive measures

Whether or not you are vaccinated, you can still spread the COVID virus and unintentionally hurt those you love. To avoid this, ensure you take all the necessary preventive measures. For example, when going to work, ensure double masking and practice social distancing from your colleagues. Also, ensure that you clean and sanitize your hands from time to time and avoid touching your face.

Your sanitizer is your best friend

Your sanitizers should be your best friend, period. It's not always possible for you to wash your hands, but sanitizing is always the easier option. You must always keep a sanitizer on you, no matter whether you are at home or work. Keep sanitizing your hands from time to time. In fact, you should also sanitize your surroundings as often as possible. For instance, you can carry sanitizing wipes and sanitize your work desk before you get to work.

Motivate others to get vaccinated

It isn't unlikely for the older generations to have a hesitancy towards the vaccination. The fake news often spread by many on social media adds to this hesitancy. It is thus a duty for the rest of us to educate & motivate others to get vaccinated on time as they might be the next super spreaders. It is only by teamwork can we achieve herd immunity against this pandemic.

Your immunity matters

A slow metabolism can worsen your condition amidst the pandemic. It has been proven time & again that people with lower immunity are more likely to get affected by the virus. It is thus important that we take the right steps to enhance our immunity. Small steps that you can take to do this are eating healthily, prefer homemade food, and incorporate regular exercise in your daily routine. You can also take the suggestion from medical experts to stay safe in the pandemic.

We hope you stay in, stay safe, and do your best to avoid the third wave. It's the only way we can minimize the damage being caused by the ongoing COVID pandemic and keep ourselves as well as others safe.
